Stephen Wolff Sculpture

Stephen Wolff works to create sculpture that captures moments which touch or represent elements in our lives that define us or represent a metaphor for the purpose of reflection. This piece, "A Moment", represents a rare connection between a farmer and a bird. Sweaty and hot, the farmer pauses, a bird lands on his hand; he is entranced by "a moment" that will never happen again. Other pieces, such as "Maker", represent man forging man or man forging himself, a metaphor for how we shape ourselves and each other, through our thoughts, actions and intentions. Then there is "Grief's Passion" which embodies grief captured and how going inward and holding oneself during moments of internal pain is also coming into deeper contact with oneself while grieving for a loss. As with all works, it is ultimately the viewer who decides what a piece might mean to them. I only throw my spin on it because I created it; but as with with most things in life, when one gives birth to a creation, be it children or art, those creations do take on a life of their own and grow as they will. We, the creators, just shape them the best we can and allow them to grow their own wings so they can then fly.
